1. The
competition is free to enter. It opens on 31st March 2002 and closes
31st March 2003. The winner will be informed by e-mail announced
on the Fast-Print web site. It is open to anyone from the age of
18 and over, whether or not they are a Fast-Print client. If the
winner submits their forms for publication and consequently wins
the award they shall be refunded the full cost of the published
book.
There is a prize of 300 books of the winning manuscript.
2. The submitted manuscript must be the writer ’s own original
work to which they hold the copyright. The work can be submitted
in a number of ways: online using the form on the competition page
of our web site, or the manuscript may be submitted on disk or CD-ROM
(MS Word format).

Remember the work must not have been previously published, be entered
into any other competition, nor should it be in consideration for
any commercial contract by any publishing house. Sadly in the event
of any plagiarised work winning, the writer will be required to
pay for their published books.
3. The submitted manuscript must be in English and should
be no less than 30,000 words in length and no more than 95,000 words.
Collections of short stories and poems are eligible for entry, however
technical manuals are disallowed.
4. All work that is considered racist, pornographic or has
any content the judges feel is inappropriate, will be excluded entry
to the competition.
5. Employees or agents of The Fast-Print Network or Mailhaus Ltd are excluded from entry to the competition.
6. All entries must be submitted in a readable format, be
double spaced and in chapters. The first page of the manuscript
should contain the author ’s name, age, address, a contactable telephone
number, e-mail address if appropriate and a short synopsis of the
submitted work.
7. The judges decisions are final and no correspondance will
be entered into.
8. The organisers will not be held responsible for the loss,
damage or non-arrival of any entry.
9. The Fast-Print Network is able to publish the winning
titles up to 12 months after the competition has ended and is able
to use the books or any of their parts in any promotional or sales
material.
10. Entrants shall be expected to have read and accepted
all the above conditions of entry for the Fast-Print Network Book
Award. Entrants who wish to be notified of the Award ’s outcome
can enclose a SAE marked Prize Winners with their entry. The results
will also posted via the Fast-Print Network web site.
