To redesign an existing site to give a more up to date look and feel.
and significantly increase the site's speed. The site was a data
driven site using a Lotus Notes database.
solution
The site was redesigned using a contemporary colour scheme incorporating
the existing logo which was to be retained.
To make the significant speed increase required, the site was transferred
from an ageing co-located server to our shared servers. The site
is hosted on a Windows 2003 server and a Linux server to
run the database.
The Lotus Notes database was replaced by a MySQL/PHP model. Scalability
was built into the database for future integration of low-level
accounting and stock management. A custom built
application was created for the input of data and image upload.
This application was web browser based enabling the company to
control data from any location with an internet connection. A webmail
system was also introduced for the same purpose.
